AnneMarie Horowitz is the Community Lead for the DOE Alumni Network. AnneMarie was a civil servant at the U.S. Department of Energy for 15 years from 2010-2025, working in communications and operations. She’s worked in six offices at DOE - the Office of Economic Impact and Diversity, the Under Secretary for Management and Performance, the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Environment, Health, Safety & Security, the Office of Public Affairs, and her most recent position was the Chief of Staff at the Arctic Energy Office. AnneMarie started two employee resource groups (POWER and the Emerging Professionals Group) and spearheaded women in STEM efforts and the “STEM Rising” initiative.
AnneMarie’s time at DOE also included her supporting the 40th and 45th Anniversaries of DOE, running Bike to Work Day and Take Your Kids to Work Day, managing town halls and the DOE intranet, starting a group for nursing mothers, and running special emphasis month events.
AnneMarie has a Master’s in Government from John’s Hopkins, a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Portland, and lives in Philadelphia. In her free time she loves to read and explore Philadelphia.
