Emma Wendt
Data Management Lead
Emma Wendt is the Data Management Lead for the DOE Alumni Network. She was at DOE for two years, as the Principal Strategist, Place-Based Investments at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations. While there, she focused on designing funding approaches to energy planning and projects in rural and remote communities.
Emma also runs Fog’s Edge Strategies, a consulting firm specializing in identifying and solving for human-centered barriers to clean energy.
Previously, Emma led the Climate Solutions team at the Island Institute, a community development nonprofit serving Maine’s islands and remote coastal communities, supporting local energy planning and electric boat adoption. Her prior work also includes guiding graduate students pursuing careers in business and sustainability at the University of Michigan; modeling renewable energy procurement at Pacific Gas and Electric; and leading the International Finance Corporation to become carbon neutral.
Emma holds an undergraduate degree in environmental science and public policy from Harvard College and a joint MBA/MS in environment and resources from Stanford University. She lives in Midcoast Maine, bikes year-round for transportation, and enjoys gardening in the few warm months.
